Chelsea Nicholson has had almost a dozen jury trials. She has reached not guilty verdicts in over a thousand pounds of marijuana case, a robbery case based on a wrongful identification, and challenged DNA with the use of experts. She works the case, finds the issues, and uses experts when appropriate to challenge the evidence.
Chelsea Nicholson, Attorney at Law is a trial lawyer practicing in Nashville and the surrounding Middle Tennessee counties. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with her Bachelor of Science degree in political science in 2005. She obtained her law degree in 2009 from the Nashville School of Law. Chelsea interned at the Public Defenders Office in Nashville throughout law school and started her practice with Jack Butler and Associates. She then opened her own office in 2010 focusing on criminal defense. While in private practice she has had nine jury trials including cases for DUI, kidnapping, robbery, rape and drug offenses and obtained many favorable verdicts.
Chelsea Nicholson also served as a part-time Magistrate and Night Court Commissioner in Nashville for the Davidson County General Sessions Court from 2016 until 2018. She conducted probable cause hearings, heard drug seizure hearings, search warrant hearings and Order of Protections hearings.
In August 2018, Chelsea Nicholson accepted a position as a staff attorney for the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security. She worked for the Department of Safety until January 2019 within drug seizure hearings all over Middle Tennessee. She left this position in January 2019 and returned to her private practice to focus on personal injury litigation along with her criminal defense practice. She is also of counsel to attorney Thomas Mink & Associates, PLLC.
